It's no 'Socha Na Tha' or a sequel of 'Shootout At Wadala'. The story is as dark as an Indian bootlegger's mind. We are asked to believe that these are real assassins and they are pulling off the heist in the most perfect manner. The film's character is none other than the thief himself and it is like witnessing a play. A disturbing thought has more of a place in this story than in some of the action movies we usually watch. What stands out is the fact that at least Anil is a competent actor. His scene-stealing is as painful as the shooting it represents". Anuj Kumar from Koimoi also gave a positive review. He wrote, "By no means a great film, Shootout At Wadala is an unconventional Hindi action film. Inspired from the novel 'The Last Assassin', this film offers an intriguing view of organized crime and the scope of an artful heist. Stunning visuals and a well-thought out script make this one a winner".
